A little about me

A joint Gwiazda-Skra team playing against an visiting side from Austria in 1936

I’m a 33 year old Polono-footballophile, Reading fan and history buff, living and working in Warsaw.  I started blogging about how Poland experienced Euro 2012 and now write about esoteric goings on in the world of Polish football.  Expect articles on important issues in the Polish game, lesser known Polish clubs, historical insights and a bit of groundhopping all rolled into a gregarious package.  If this blog leaves you gagging for more you can also find me on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/RightbankWarsaw and on twitter at @rightbankwarsaw. You can also contact me via email at: rightbankwarsaw (at) gmail (dot) com

Apart from the blog, my work has appeared in:

Bundesliga Fanatic

Ekstraklasa Magazine

Ekstraklasa Review

Football’s Fallen

In Bed With Maradona

The False Nine

The Football Pink

The Tilehurst End

I also contribute to a fortnightly podcast on Central and Eastern Europe football The Informer

  1. Hi – would like to get in contact with you, as i am also interested in groundhopping and.. i am also from Warsaw. As I am denying FB & twitter i don’t know how else i could get in touch with you. So please, send me a short email. Thanks in advance. Matt

  2. It’s nice that you are interested in polish football. Maybe it’s not the right place to write about this particular thing but… You mentioned that you work in Warsaw. Do you publish also in polish language ?

  3. Great blog, keep up the great work! I am a Polish-American who has an interest in Ekstraklasa. I was wondering if you knew how one can watch matches internationally or even just see match highlights. I appreciate the assistance, thanks!

  4. Hello. I often land on this blog as I research the history of Polish football for my novel. My question is whether there’s a way to search your blog for specific topics. My novel takes place between 1945-68. I once read an entry about football right after the War, how one team (I believe Liga) was supported by the Communist regime while Polonia was not… I cannot find that post anymore. Also, if you’d be open to chatting sometime (I am in NYC but come to Poland regularly) please shoot me an email. I’d be happy to buy lunch or a beer next time I’m in Warsaw…
